STATEMENT ON INTRAUTERINE DEVICES, COUNSELLING AND PAIN MANAGEMENT
Intrauterine devices (IUDs) are some of the most effective forms of contraception, and the insertion procedure is quickly performed by a skilled healthcare provider. Although the procedure is usually fast with limited discomfort or pain, the SOGC recognizes that some patients may need additional counselling as well as pain management options.
