June 2022

Welcome!

Dr. Francoeur – SOGC CEO

Dear colleagues:

It is hard to believe but ACSC is less than a week away! Québec City holds a special place in my heart as I studied there during my medical school years. It is a very charming city, bustling with activity and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you there.

We have planned an excellent four day program. Here are a few sessions to watch for:

  • Joyce Echaquan inquiry with Dr. Ojistoh Horn, MD (Day 1, June 7th)
  • Maternal Mortality in Canada: Launching the SOGC’s Program with Dr. Jocelynn Cook, PhD and Dr. Catherine Popadiuk, MD (Day 1, June 7th)

In addition, we will have a great session on family planning on Thursday afternoon (Day 3, June 9th) where we learn why medical abortion is not as accessible in Quebec. Join us and discover the joy from learning together. It is definitely an antidote against burn out and helps to connect us.

Lastly, even if you are not able to attend, make sure you register to the AGM as an important revision of our bylaws has been done to allow us to have a stronger governance. Please come and talk to the board and myself if you any questions about this vote.

See you next week in Quebec City!
