Delphi Monthly
May 2022
Welcome!
Dear colleagues:
We look forward to welcoming you at ACSC next month. Make sure to register and book your hotel. June is a busy month in Quebec City so make sure to book in time. Our staff have been been working behind the scenes to deliver an exciting and comprehensive program.
We are making changes to our bylaws and an important vote will be taking place during the Annual General Meeting on June 8th. Renew your membership, register for the conference and come to the Annual General Meeting.
This will be my last ACSC as President of the SOGC. It has been a challenging year as president with all of the changes with transition (and Covid) that we have faced. Our new leadership team under Dr. Diane Francouer looks well placed to advance the mission of SOGC. I am very proud to be part of this organization , the work done by so many people advancing Women’s health is very impressive. Collaborative care was my presidential theme and I would like to thank SOGC for giving me a platform to talk about this and promote it.
See you in Quebec CIty!

MOTHER’S DAY: A TIME FOR REFLECTION
THE KITTY CARR FUND
Paul Carr established the Kitty Carr Fund at the Canadian Foundation for Women’s Health (the charitable arm of the SOGC) in loving memory of his late wife Kitty Lana. Kitty Carr tragically passed away in 1994 on New Year’s Eve after having given birth to their daughter Kitty Lana. It was a tragic event that spurred Carr into action. He has since become a tireless advocate on maternal mortality in Canada by lobbying politicians at both the federal and provincial level to establish a confidential inquiry system into maternal deaths. Carr recently made a generous donation of $100,000 to the CFWH and the hope is to raise more money for the fund. Learn more about Paul Carr and the Kitty Carr fund HERE.
